Sri Lanka England First Test Match

Hi All,

It is time for Test match cricket again. Sri Lankans will take on England on Dec 1st in Kandy. It will be an interesting match for quite a few reasons.

1. Sri Lanka will be itching to register a win to restore some lost pride. (By losing the Aussie series and the England one day Series)
2. Murali will be eying to break the Shane Warnes' record in front of his home crowd.

But with the retirement of Marven, Sri Lankan team will be somewhat be different compared to the Aussie test match final XI.

Here is my final XI.

1. Upul Tharanga
2. Micheal Vandort
3. Kumar Sangakkara
4. Mahela Jayawardane (c)
5. Chamara Silva
6. Sanath Jayasuriya
7. Prasanna Jayawardane (wk)
8. Chaminda Vass
9. Dilhara Fernando
10. Lasith Malinga
11. Muththiah Muralidharan

I am not too sure about the inclusion of Sanath in this test line up. But I am sure he will get another chance to prove himself at the test level. (Since he has been a constant failure at the test level for some time now)

BTW, all and all it will be a hard fought series and I cannot predict anybody as favorites at this moment. Both teams are equally balanced except Sri Lanka has the home advantage and the Murali magic.

Congratulations to both teams!!
